Design concept
The talisman is a tool used by Taoist priests to communicate with deities and perform magic to benefit the world, and it is of a sacred nature. The Seven-Star Sword is a crucial talisman in Taoism, and its shape originated from the worship of the seven stars of the Big Dipper. The "Records of the Grand Historian: Heavenly Officials" states: "The seven stars of the Big Dipper are called 'Suan, Ji, and Yu Heng to align with the seven celestial positions.'" In Taoist beliefs, the Big Dipper is not only a navigational star but also a deity that governs life and longevity, as well as eliminating disasters and misfortunes. When Taoist priests perform magic, they hold the Seven-Star Sword, symbolizing acting on behalf of Heaven, and possessing supreme authority to summon deities, dispatch generals, and slay demons and eliminate evil.
The "Spirit and Will Spell" is not merely an ornament; it is the carrier of the esoteric spellcraft culture of Taoism. Each spell is composed of specific scriptures, star charts, deity names, and cloud seals. It is the result of Taoist practitioners' internal cultivation and external methods, where they "write" the cosmic energy and the will of the deities onto paper (or objects). It serves as a bridge connecting the mundane and the divine, embodying the concrete manifestation of the "Dao" power.
In the Taoist tradition, ritual objects are not merely external tools but also aids for internal cultivation. Wearing this pendant can constantly remind the wearer to hold onto the right mindset and aspire towards the light. The sharpness of the "sword" it represents can help one cut through troubles and attachments, while the auspiciousness of the "spell" can cultivate the heart and gather blessings. This perfectly demonstrates the Taoist wisdom of "internal cultivation and external application" and "using objects to carry the Dao".
PLDesigning the appearance

The design did not simply replicate ancient objects. Instead, it deconstructed, refined and recreated the two most representative core symbols of Taoism, namely "Seven-Star Sword" and "Spirit-Way Spell". Through simple yet powerful lines, it retained the charm and solemnity of the ritual objects, while eliminating the elaborate religious ritualistic elements, making it an art piece that can be integrated into modern daily life. This is a high-level design philosophy of "extracting the essence and discarding the form".

Selection of Copper: Copper has a long history in Taoist ritual objects, symbolizing solidity, durability, and the transmission of energy. The designer selected high-quality copper materials and used a special oxidation process to create a retro silver-black/golden bronze texture. This unique patina that develops over time is itself a metaphor for "practice", echoing the Taoist concept of "following the way of nature".
Narrative of Colors: The dominant deep golden bronze color represents the heaviness and mystery of the earth; the点缀ed golden color (such as seals) symbolizes the celestial realm and the radiance of divinity; while the red color (such as the fill color in the runes) represents life, vitality, and the flame of exorcism. The combination of these three creates a miniature cosmology.
Cultural Function
The core element of the pendant - the Seven-Star Sword - is directly related to the worship of the Big Dipper. The Big Dipper was not only a navigation star in ancient times, but also the chariot of the Heavenly Emperor, serving as the connection between the celestial realm and the earthly world. Wearing this item symbolizes the connection between an individual and the vast universe, embodying the core philosophy of Taoism, "Man follows the Earth, the Earth follows Heaven, Heaven follows the Tao, and the Tao follows nature", which is the pursuit of harmony and unity between humans and nature, as well as the universe.
The Tao symbol is a unique cultural code of Taoism, integrating text, images, and beliefs. Incorporating the "Spirit and Might Tao Symbol" into the design is a creative protection of this endangered intangible cultural heritage. It enables the profound Taoist symbol culture to enter daily life in a more intuitive and easily understandable way, becoming a new path for cultural inheritance.
Bestow blessings(Free gift)
The act of a Taoist priest bestowing blessings upon a ritual object is a meticulous religious ceremony. Its purpose is to infuse the object with spiritual energy, making it a powerful tool for communicating between humans and deities, as well as for warding off evil and protecting against evil forces.
The key lies in the "internal cultivation and external method" - the internal cultivation of the mage is the foundation for mobilizing the energy of heaven and earth. Through meditation (visualizing oneself transforming into a divine envoy), hand gestures (such as the Five Thunderhand Technique, Lotus Hand Technique, etc.) and incantations, one prays for the arrival of the master or a specific deity (such as the Thunder Division God General) and channels divine power into the ritual tools.
